A brief description of how the physical campus plan or amendment includes sustainability:
SFU’s physical development is guided by the Capital Plan. The Capital Plan was most recently updated and covers 2011 - 2016. The Plan references sustainability in Strategic Priority 1: Rehabilitation and Renewal of the Burnaby Campus. Renewal and rehabilitation are key features, with all new buildings and renovations to existing buildings carried out to meet LEED Gold or equivalent standards. “All future projects will be executed in accordance with the government mandate to achieve LEED Gold, or equivalent, in order to minimize greenhouse gas emissions and in order to comply with Climate Action targets (BC's Greenhouse Gas Reduction Targets Act).” (p.10)
