A brief description of the program:
The University has a formal program for the collection and distribution of surplus office and public space furnishings and, as such, meets the criteria for this credit.
Surplus furnishings are collected by the Central Stores division of Facilities Services after the individual or department completes an online service request identifying the need to remove surplus furniture. The surplus is collected and returned to Central Stores where the surplus is grouped with similar furnishing types, table with tables, partitions with partitions, etc. The university staff and Faculty are then free to browse the surplus and have any unclaimed item sent to a destination on campus, free of charge.
