A brief description of steps taken to ensure that e-waste is recycled responsibly, workers’ basic safety is protected, and environmental standards are met:
All (100%) e-waste that has not been collected for reuse by the science shops is recycled and sent to the Encorp Pacific . Encorp Pacific (Canada) is a federally incorporated, not-for-profit, product stewardship corporation with beverage container management as their core business. Their mandate is to develop, manage and improve systems to recover used packaging and end-of-life products from consumers and ensure that they are properly recycled and not land-filled or incinerated.

Staff and Faculty submit a online services request for e-waste collection. After the e-waste is collected it is packaged and sent to Encorp Pacific's recycling depot for processing.
