A brief description of the program:
The Program
The U-Pass is funded in part by a mandatory student fee of $104.36 per term ($26.09 per month) until August 31, 2011. The U-Pass fee is automatically added to your student account when you enroll in a U-Pass eligible course, and must be paid at the same time as your fees and tuition.
The U-Pass Program is a student initiative approved by student vote in Simon Fraser Student Society referendums in November 2002, March 2005, November 2007. The program is mandatory for all eligible SFU students and provides unlimited, all zone access to public transit in Metro Vancouver (the GVRD) at approximately one-tenth to one-third the cost of a regular monthly transit pass. Once you have your U-Pass, you will not have to pay any additional fares and you will have:
unlimited access to TransLink Bus (including Community Shuttles and West Vancouver Blue Buses), SkyTrain and SeaBus services (all zones),
a discount on West Coast Express Train fares.
