A brief description of the technology used:
In 2009, Simon Fraser University implemented a Power Smart Project of BC Hydro to install 240 LED lighting control motion sensors in at least 15 main buildings on campus (Burnaby). These were mostly replacement in wall mounted light switch in washrooms, classrooms and office areas. A new infrared and micro phonics technology sensor was used after testing several types. BC Hydro conducted extensive testing after the installation to verify reduction in lighting hours. It has proven to be very effective and matching lighting operation to occupancy.
