Central Sustainability Website

Does the institution have a central sustainability website that consolidates information about the institution's sustainability efforts?:
Yes

A brief description of the central sustainability website (optional):
The inclusion of sustainability into the instructional curricula of all departments is needed to stimulate and challenge students to get involved in creative solution-building in their personal and professional lives. As sustainability is not living in ideas alone, strategies are also needed to move towards greater sustainability in the maintenance and development of our Adrian campus. Some of these projects include a comprehensive recycling program, enhanced energy conservation and utilization of renewable energy sources, a poison-free campus environment (e.g. no use of pesticides, fertilizer, coal and petroleum tar, etc.), enriched foods in our cafeteria (organically, locally, and humanely produced), and the integration of SHU into the global community of environmentally- and socially-responsible universities. Since these projects are campus-wide, the Sustainable College Committee includes faculty and staff members from many departments, representatives of the SHU administration, a number of students of various majors, and several Adrian Dominican Sisters.

A brief description of the guide for green living and incorporating sustainability into the residential experience:
The following is like a check list of things that each of us can and should do to safeguard this planet and all her inhabitants. Do not think that you must achieve all at once but rather begin somewhere and strive to add another ASAP. On the other hand, do not pet yourself too easy on the shoulder and think that you do enough if you achieved some of the goals. Life should be an everlasting strive to do better – but be patient with yourself – if you push too hard you might get frustrated and give up totally. Motivate your friends and family but focus on what you can do before preaching – always walk the talk!
