Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
The EDGE Entrepreneurship Hub
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
Sheridan Entrepreneurs supports aspiring entrepreneurs and changemakers to bring their ideas to life and make a positive impact on the world. It is a relatively new addition to the campus where students and community members can access training and mentorship to help develop their ideas that address social issues, environmental challenges or economic opportunities.
Although providing entrepreneurship support has become quite common at post-secondary institutions, innovation is at the heart of what Sheridan is trying to do. In addition, having a hub space is less common in that many schools have co-working spaces and programs, but only a handful, that we’re aware of, have flexible drop-in space that all entrepreneurial students can use.
Which of the following impact areas does the innovation most closely relate to? (select up to three):
Campus Engagement
Public Engagement
Investment & Finance
