A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):

CPOD invites all new full time (provided by HR) and part time employees (provided by each Department/Faculty) twice annually to a corporate wide employee orientation event. Of those invited, approximately 70% attend the bi-annual event.

Part of this all-day event includes a Marketplace networking opportunity for approximately one hour. Departments, including the Office for Sustainability, request a booth for this open session and attend the event to be available to all new employees. The Office for Sustainability attend and discuss their sustainability policy and ongoing initiatives with new employees. During the orientation event, the team also provides information on the social, economic, and environmental benefits of sustainability such as health benefits and savings resulting from biking to the work. Moreover, the Office for Sustainability continuously engages with all employees and informs them on upcoming sustainability events.
