A brief description of the undergraduate degree program:
The following program addresses many of the environmental aspects of sustainability, however, does not integrate the environmental, social, and economic aspects and an interdisciplinary way. Environmental Technician Diploma Sheridan’s Environmental Technician program stands out for its emphasis on chemistry and practical lab work. Students learn the most sophisticated, up-to-date methods – the same procedures used in environmental science research and required by environmental laboratories, consulting firms, and regulatory agencies. In two years of direct, hands-on environmental science instruction students learn: - To gather samples in the field and analyze them in the lab. - Develop a detailed understanding of current environmental regulations. - Apply pollution prevention and control processes. - Promote and maintain sustainable practices by applying the elements of ecosystem-based management. - Follow established protocols in support of environmental management systems. The program includes a significant component on environmental regulations and policies. In addition, students take the Environmental Science course, which includes sustainability concepts that align with the environmental, social, and economic pillars.
