A brief description of notable policies or programs to make the institution accessible and affordable to low-income students:

Sewanee offers need-based aid to students of all socioeconomic backgrounds by remaining need-blind in the admission office. Students can apply for both need-based aid and automatically eligible for any academic scholarships. Need-based aid packages can include student work, grants, and federal loans. Every Sewanee applicant is considered for academic scholarships simply by submitting the Common Application and all required admission documents on their Applicant Status Page. All scholarships are renewable with satisfactory academic progress. https://new.sewanee.edu/admission-aid/cost-financial-aid/scholarships/

Sewanee has partnered with RaiseMe to provide students a way to become more involved in their college application process. By creating a free RaiseMe account, students can begin earning micro scholarship awards for working through Sewanee's application objectives. If admitted, RaiseMe students' micro scholarship amounts will be included in their financial aid package.
