Has the institution conducted a survey or other evaluation that allows for anonymous feedback to measure employee satisfaction and engagement during the previous three years?:
Yes

Percentage of employees (staff and faculty) assessed, directly or by representative sample (0-100):
51

A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:

The Employee Advisory Committee and Staff Trustees conducted a University Staff Survey in 2015 and again in 2018. The 2015 and 2018 surveys were supervised by an anonymous researcher who analyzed and compiled the data in to a final report. All part-time and full-time staff members were asked to participate via online survey or by a paper survey that was available in various locations on campus. The faculty did not participate since they have their own survey mechanism in place.

A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation (including examples from the previous three years):

In 2015 the top survey concerns of staff involved compensation and communications. The University addressed some of the compensation issues by increasing the minimum starting wage and vacation accruals were adjusted for staff members to earn additional vacation pay at a faster rate. One way the communications issues were addressed was by giving the Employee Advisory Committee a larger role in Open Staff meetings. In 2018 compensation is still the leading concern of a majority of staff. The Employee Advisory Committee and Staff Trustees will meet to discuss ways to address the most recent survey issues.
