A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
In the fall of 2020, Seneca conducted its annual institution-wide employee survey. All faculty and staff were sent an online survey to complete in November/December. In total, 3857 employees were invited to participate in the survey. The six questions addressed employee inclusion, as well as one question regarding engagement that Seneca uses as an annual benchmark. It was distributed in partnership with CCI Research Inc. A total of 1,852, or 48% of employees responded to the survey.

The assessment questions and results can be viewed through the link in the additional documentation section.

A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:
The results summary was published internally on the employee platform within the HR Initiatives and Change Management space.

At the departmental level, individual reports are produced for each group. Human Resources develops the action items and opportunities for improvement identified through consultation with each department.

Another survey will be administered in 2023 to measure satisfaction levels, as well as survey the benchmark engagement question again. In 2022, the engagement score was 82%.
