A brief description of the methodology used to track and calculate the number of recordable incidents of work-related injury or ill health :
Selkirk College is responsible for first aid in the workplace, completing an annual audit to determine an adequate and appropriate level of first aid coverage at each campus. Written first aid procedures have been created and an occupational first aid team has been trained to respond to minor and major first aid emergencies. First aid attendants complete a standard WorkSafeBC first aid report, providing a copy to Health & Safety for review and to record in a database that tracks employee, student and community member injuries. This number is reported to the Joint Occupational Health & Safety committees at the monthly meetings.
