Examples of community service initiatives include:
- Students create food hampers for community members in need.
- Coldest Night of the Year: Third year nursing students partner with the Nelson CARES Society to host a family-friendly walking fundraiser event in Nelson and Castlegar to raise funds for and awareness of homelessness in the region.
- Students from the Environment Club volunteer for local groups
- Carpentry students have volunteered with the Blewett Conservation Society to build and set up an outdoor community skating rink
