A brief description of how the literacy assessment was developed and/or when it was adopted:

The literacy assessment was developed by faculty and staff from the Sustainability Committee. The assessment includes questions addressing sustainability literacy, as well as culture and engagement, however, 10 questions focus specifically on knowledge.
During development, the Ohio State University Assessment of Sustainability Knowledge and the ACPA Sustainability Task Force resources were drawn upon.
The assessment was ran as a pilot in several classes during 2018 and 2019.
In September 2021 the assessment was distributed to all students. In September 2022, the assessment was delivered to all students and employees.

A brief description of how a representative sample was reached (if applicable) and how the assessment(s) were administered :

The Sustainability Literacy Assessment was administered to all students via SurveyMonkey. The assessment was delivered to students via email from our Institutional Research Department. It was promoted on social media and within internal employee communications.

A brief summary of results from the literacy assessment(s):

In September 2022 we received 459 responses. Respondents scored an average of 60% on the 10 knowledge-based questions.
