A brief description of the institution’s green infrastructure and LID practices:

In 2017, the main parking lot on Castlegar campus was renovated, and bioswales were installed. The bioswale installation consists of vegetated plots and an underground piping system that works to capture, localize, accumulate and redirect stormwater runoff. This prevents or delays water from entering the Columbia River. The vegetation plots were plated by second-year School of Environment students and contain native and drought-tolerant plants.
