A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
At the New Employee Orientation in 2015, there was a "trade-show" where different departments and committees set up booths to provide information and education to new employees. The Sustainability Committee participated in this event by providing information about the sustainability goals, strategies, and policies that Selkirk has adopted, highlighting the sustainability-related achievements of the college, and engaging in conversation with new employees to promote and receive feedback about Selkirk's sustainability initiatives; prizes were distributed to employees who were engaged at the booth.
There was also a "lunch and social" event where Fair-Trade coffee and tea was provided (education about Selkirk College's Fair-Trade Campus status was provided at the Sustainability Committee booth).
