The Community Service Leave Policy is an effort to encourage and support staff (non-academic staff) to embrace the mission, vision and values through service. Seattle University offers Community Service Leave to participate, with pay, in community service activities that occur during regularly scheduled work hours.

NOTE 1: "Total number of students" and "Numbers for students engaged in community service" are for academic year 2022-23. They include undergraduate, graduate and Law school students:
--2,661 students participated in a community engaged learning course. NOTE: This is an estimate. Data collection was suspended during the pandemic but it will begin again this academic year.
--800 students (estimate) participated in volunteer and/or student employment in the community (2022-2023)
--100 students (estimate) participated in community engaged work-study (2022-2023)

NOTE 2: No. of student community service hours is an estimate for the same time period (academic year 2022-2023). We don’t officially track these numbers but we estimate a total of 120,000 hours
