MSAL: Masters in Sports Administration and Leadership

A brief description of the graduate-level degree program:
The MSAL program is designed around the principle of ‘leading edge.’ The curriculum is grounded in three areas of sustainability: business, human and environmental. This breadth ensures that students learn how to be systems thinkers in an increasingly complex world. Courses provide students with the most up to date theoretical perspectives that help them become the analytical thinkers and problem-solvers needed in 21st century sport administration and leadership.

MSAL courses include real-world experiences and projects that require students to observe, analyze and solve multifaceted problems and issues. Course projects include,
--Identifying consumer behavior patterns and making recommendations on how to increase consumption of the sport product
--Developing marketing plans for local sport organizations aimed at increasing brand awareness and developed from a favorable ROI
--Completing a comprehensive report on organizational practices and culture with specific initiatives for improving workplace gender inclusivity
--Developing sustainability initiatives that are grounded in data driven decisions and social responsibility
--Facilitating a 2-year strategic plan for a local sport organization
