A brief description of the institution’s efforts to support alternative fuel and power technology in its motorized fleet:

Electric vehicles make up one-third of our fleet. In 2014 Seattle university received the Visionary Award in Transportation from Seattle 2030 District. The award recognizes the university's "exemplary contributions" in a number of areas, including the electric Segways and the university's Nighthawk shuttle fleet. The Night Hawk added "emissions-free" to its features when the program's Ford Escape hybrids were replaced with six Nissan Leaf vehicles. The new fleet might encourage SU's students to consider electric cars when the time comes for them to purchase vehicles of their own.
