1st Campaign
Central Waste Audit
A brief description of the campaign, including how students and/or employees were engaged:
The Seattle Central Sustainability Council hosted a waste audit and invited faculty and students to participate. Several classes joined to help with the waste audit. The results of the waste audit were demonstrated in large poster format and showcased during Earth Week and other sustainability events.
A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign:
It is hard to measure the impacts of the campaign, because we do not currently have accurate weights of our garbage and recycling in order to compare before and after resutls. However, anecdotally, there is more conversation and we are fielding more questions about proper waste sorting. Faculty and students are asking more questions. They are requesting help in their offices and classrooms.
