Sustainability Playbooks - campus wide, primarily directed at students
A brief description of the campaign:
As part of the 2019 Sustainability Strategic Plan, role-specific Sustainability Playbooks were designed to engage every person on campus, from students to employees, to take actions that will help them live more sustainably and help SCU achieve our sustainability goals - and earn scout-style badges as a result. https://www.scu.edu/sustainability/about/strategicplan/playbooks/
A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign:
Since the conception of the Sustainability Playbooks in January 2019, 244 students, 26 staff, 23 faculty, and 34 alumni have earned badges in the areas of Academics, Engagement, Climate Commitment, Energy, Transportation, Water, Landscaping, Purchasing, or Waste. Overall, 526 sustainable actions have been completed and documented.

Energy Drawdown - directed at employees
A brief description of the campaign (2nd campaign):
Energy Drawdown is an energy conservation campaign directed at employees. Prior to every Thanksgiving break, winter break, and spring break, all faculty and staff are sent an email encouraging them to prepare their personal or workspace to reduce energy consumption (turn off lights, unplug small refrigerators/microwaves/coffee makers/other small appliances, close the blinds, etc.)
A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign (2nd campaign):
Energy Drawdown is a very effective campaign for reducing campus energy use. For Thanksgiving Break 2021, there was a reduction of 74,784 kWh across campus. For Thanksgiving Break 2022, there was a reduction of 76,086 kWh across campus.
