A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):
A Sustainability Liaison is designated for every Residential Learning Community, and they are responsible for engaging their residents in sustainable behaviors, create sustainability-themed programs, and facilitate campus-wide residence hall initiatives including the Energy Challenge, Swap for Good, and waste diversion during move-out. The program is led by the Sustainability Coordinator for Housing & Dining, with staff support from the Center for Sustainability and Office of Residence Life. Residential Sustainability Liaisons meet quarterly with the Center for Sustainability to receive training and up-to-date information about sustainability initiatives on campus.
A brief description of the student educators program’s target audience (1st program):
The target audience of this program are all the students that are living in the residence halls on-campus, through Residential Sustainability Liaisons who engage them in sustainable behaviors as early as their first year. Besides the annual initiatives mentioned above, Residential Sustainability Liaisons organize other events and programs which encompass different aspects of sustainability (nature, social, economics, and well-being).

Student Organization Liaisons engage their organization's members in sustainable behaviors in order to develop a culture of sustainability among students at SCU. Liaisons share and discuss endeavors, events, ideas, and foster collaborative opportunities between multiple organizations. The program is led by the Sustainability Coordinator for Collaborative Events, with staff support from the Center for Sustainability. Student Organization Sustainability Liaisons meet quarterly with the Center for Sustainability to receive training and up-to-date information about sustainability initiatives on campus.

The target audience of this program is members of chartered student organizations (CSOs) and registered student organizations (RSOs). Student Organization Sustainability Liaisons organize other events and programs which encompass different aspects of sustainability (nature, social, economics, and well-being).

Sustainability Guides (years active: 2020-2022) was a program that enabled individuals who desire to have campus sustainability knowledge to become trained to serve as hotspots of information for students, faculty, and staff. Sustainability guides were required to share sustainability knowledge, earn at least one sustainability badge per quarter, attend at least one Center for Sustainability event per quarter, and read the campus sustainability newsletter.
