SCU has eliminated on-site sales and distribution of straws, plastic shopping bags, and polystyrene products.

All compostable plastics distributed by Dining Services are BPI certified.
Purchasing of break room supplies is de-centralized. The Center for Sustainability provides guidance for avoiding single-use disposable plastics and resources for appropriate substitutions. https://www.scu.edu/sustainability/operations/purchasing/
