A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting, including the timeframe for when the analysis was conducted and how a representative sample was reached, if applicable:
A survey was e-mailed to graduate and undergraduate students on their respective Student-Events Listservs by the Transportation Services Office in early January 2017. The Center for Sustainability sent several follow-up emails (with different subject lines) to encourage participation. The survey was open for two weeks. Our response rate: 11.3% of undergraduates and 9.8% of graduate students.
