Institution has adopted a framework for community stakeholder engagement in governance, strategy and operations. The framework includes:

1) Policies and procedures that ensure community stakeholder engagement is applied systematically and regularly across the institution’s activities (e.g. planning and development efforts, capital investment projects, and/or other activities and decisions that affect the broader community)


2) Established practices to identify and engage relevant community stakeholders, including any vulnerable or underrepresented groups.

Frameworks adopted by entities of which the institution is part (e.g. government or university system) may count for this credit as long as the policies apply to and are followed by the institution.

This credit does not include the engagement of internal campus stakeholders (e.g. students, faculty and staff); internal stakeholder engagement is covered in PA 3: Governance.


This credit applies to all institutions.


Institutions earn 2 points for having adopted a framework for community stakeholder engagement that meets the criteria outlined above. Partial points are not available for this credit.
