Injury Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP). Our IIPP implementation consists of the following
elements:
1. A person (or persons) with authority and
responsibility for implementing the Program is
identified. This is done through executive order 1039
2. A system for ensuring employees comply with
safe and health work practices.
3. A system for communicating with employees
in a form readily understandable by all
affected.
4. Procedures for identifying and evaluating
work place hazards.
5. Procedures to investigate occupational injury
or illness.
6. Procedures for correcting unsafe or unhealthy
conditions, work practices and procedures.
7. Provide employee training and instruction.
8. Procedures to allow employee access to the
Program.
9. Recordkeeping and documentation.

A brief description of the methodology used to track and calculate the number of recordable incidents of work-related injury or ill health :
Employees are required to report a work-related injury or illness to their supervisor. The
supervisor then completes a form named: Employer’s Report of Occupational Injury or
Illness. Once completed it’s submitted to University Personnel who submits it to
Sedgwick, our worker’s compensation provider. If the injury meets the definition of a
recordable, Sedgwick logs it on our OSHA 300 log.
