1st program
A brief description of the employee educators program (1st program):
The Green Office Team works with faculty and staff to bring peer-to-peer sustainability outreach and education events as part of the Green Office Certification Program.The mission of the Green Office is to engage the University’s employees in the process of implementing sustainable practices in the workplace to reduce the environmental footprint of their office or department and the campus as a whole. The Office of Sustainability works in collaboration with the department to assess and offers guidance on reducing materials and waste, conserving energy and resources, and increasing overall environmental health and wellness. The department then works with the Office to develop a list of actionable recommendations to improve their routine behaviors and practices.
A brief description of the employee educators program’s target audience (1st program):
The target audience is the entire staff population on campus. Each staff member that goes through the Green Office program is trained on to be a sustainability champion in their department. An example of this is after the entire Human Resources department had an hour long workshop on sustainability, employees started integrating sustainability into the work that they do. They no longer serve single-use plastic water bottles at events and promote reusables in their marketing.
