This program provides free parking to anyone having a vehicle that meets clean-air standards. Parking for the City of San Jose offices are less than a quarter mile from the campus of SJSU, making this option feasible and very helpful for students and employees.

A brief description of other programs or initiatives to encourage more sustainable modes of transportation and/or reduce the impact of student and employee commuting:

AS-SJSU Transportation has a social media campaign #TransitTuesdaySJSU where members of the University can post their transit selfies on social media and tag Transportation Solutions, each post will allow the student or employee a chance to win a prize. Prizes are given out throughout this semester. This campaign was created to encourage the SJSU community to commit to taking transit at least one day a week since taking transit everyday is not necessarily feasible for everyone. Additional outreach and marketing efforts are continuously sought out and ran through our department. We partner with both internal and external partners to host sustainable transportation events.

SJSU also offers local and regional transit discounts such as the VTA SmartPass, Altamount Corridor Express, and Highway 17 Express. Students and employees can also gain access to secure bike parking from one of our six enclosures located throughout campus. Additionally, we partner with 511 and Waze for carpool matching, and offer commuter benefits to employees.
