Bay Area Environmental STEM Institute (BAESI)

Bay Area Environmental STEM Institute (BAESI), a center housed at SJSU, is a year-round professional development program for teachers of grades 4-12, which has served more than 3,000 teachers since 1990. With funding from the SJSU, National Science Foundation, NASA, Chevron, Intel and others, the BAESI model is based on 29 years of experience and is informed by research about best practices for effective teacher development through ongoing assessment by an external evaluator.
