Institution’s inventory of its continuing education sustainability course offerings and descriptions:

San José State University’s Open University program allows adults from outside the university to enroll in university courses on a space-available basis and gain college credit. Therefore, all our courses and courses that address sustainability, less supervision courses such as directed reading, independent study, and thesis research are listed.

Open University students can grow professionally, enrich their lives, prepare for a career change, or give university life a try. Former San José State University students, SJSU alumni, members of the general community and disqualified students from SJSU or elsewhere may take courses.

Do the figures reported above cover one, two, or three academic years?:
One

Does the institution have at least one sustainability-focused certificate program through its continuing education or extension department?:
Yes

A brief description of the certificate program(s):

Several sustainability-focused certificate programs are available to non-matriculated students and include a certificate in Environmental Planning and Transportation and Land Use Planning from Urban and Regional Planning (website details are below)

http://info.sjsu.edu/web-dbgen/catalog/departments/URBP-section-8.html

Both of the above programs are available through SJSU Open University.

The College of Business' Certificate in Transportation Management is a 12-unit program that offers two options. It is similarly available to non-matriculated adults in the community. Students may take any four courses listed among the six required courses in the MSTM program, or they may take three required courses and one elective. The CTM program is ideal for students who may not be ready to pursue the full Masters program, but who wish to advance their transportation careers.

Data source(s) and notes about the submission:

SJSU does not have separate course listings for continuing education. Instead, non-degree seeking students are allowed to enroll in almost any SJSU courses provided they meet prerequisites and space is available. Therefore, we used the same count of classes in AC-1.
