A brief description of the institution’s employee community service initiatives:
SJSU had an annual Day of Service for several years which included employee service. Now the Cesar Chavez Community Action Center hosts a Day of Service on the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday, and a Day of Service in conjunction with the State's Cesar Chavez Holiday. Employees are welcome to participate. Another form of employee service albeit not directly serving the community is the annual "Spartans Support Spartans" drive which invites employees to give financially to any of the organizations on campus. Contributions to CCLL, CUC, CCCAC, all help fund our community service.
