This minor provides students with an understanding of both water quality and supply issues from an interdisciplinary perspective. It also gives consideration to alternative water sources, such as greywater, stormwater and recycled water and the overall ideas and design strategies behind water reuse. The minor emphasizes gaining knowledge of economics (e.g., the cost-benefit analysis of large infrastructure projects) , social equity (e.g., between Native Americans and commercial or farming fishing interests), and environmental protection issues around water (e.g., anadromous fish).
