The city of San Jose has strict policies mandating that nothing other than rain water can be discharged into the storm drains. SJSU adheres to these policies and employees in the SJSU FD&O department undergo trainings to ensure they are adhering to and implementing city guidelines.
All contracts for new development require contractors to create a SWPPP plan. SmartGrid is the California enforcement agency that ensures all projects adhere to strict storm water management guidelines on new development projects.
