Students enroll in a for-credit course (EnvS 181) in the Department of Environmental Studies Department. Students receive training in environmental leadership and project management and are required to organize and implement at least one all-campus sustainability-focused event for the SJSU community. Last semester's events included two bike to school days and a Proposition 23 debate that centered on CA's landmark Global Warming Solutions Act. All students Students from any major in the University are able to enroll in this course.

The ERC receives approximately $7,000/academic year to support its activities. The majority of these funds are allocated to Sustainability Week, a week-long series of events that culminate on or around Earth Day (April 22nd).

Applications to the Nutrition Education Action Teams program are handled by the campus dietitian in collaboration with the program's faculty advisor.

Students are trained to support their peers on topics including nutrition, exercise, and body image. They are trained to give this support in a variety of formats, including workshops and public events.

Student Peer Health Educators are selected through an application process once per year. New educators begin in the Fall semester of each academic year.
