Sustainability projects at SFSU are paid for using overhead charges to all auxiliaries on campus. Sustainability projects are also funded by a trust fund that has paid for electric vehicle charging stations, lighting retrofits, sustainability reports, etc.
As outlined in the CSU Policy Statement on Energy Conservation, Sustainable Building Practices, and Physical Plant Management, all CSU campuses will implement a utilities charge back system to recover costs of utilities provided to self-supporting and external organizations.
