A brief description of the incentive program(s):
During the Spring semester 2023, two faculty were given release time in order to incorporate sustainability learning objectives into their current courses. The budget for this is part of a multi-year Climate Justice Leader Initiative, made possible by a generous gift to SFSU.
A brief description of the incentives that academic staff who participate in the program(s) receive:
Constance Gordon received 40% release time in spring 2023, in order to develop and propose a new Climate Ambassadors Course as part of the Climate Justice Leaders Initiatave. She will create the course anew, submit it is as a new course proposal, develop the readings, activities and importantly. community connections or this new course.
Gopal Dayaneni received 40% release time to work with a campus wide initiative to transform the campus with respect to climate change. Specifically, he will be leading the development and proposal of a new, hands-on capstone experience for students in the new Climate Change Certificate
