A brief description of how the literacy assessment was developed and/or when it was adopted:

The Climate Justice Leadership campuswide committee developed the sustainability literacy assessment that was added to the exit survey for all SFSU graduates. Four questions pertaining to climate change were added to the exit survey. An additional survey to graduates of the Climate Certificate (launched in 2022) will go out to all certificate graduates.


A brief description of how a representative sample was reached (if applicable) and how the assessment(s) were administered :

all SF state graduates are sent an exit survey as part of their package of graduation requirements. About 8,000 students graduate every year.
