The Office of Sustainability and Associated Students regularly conduct public outreach tabling sessions about recycling and composting.
"Grow your plant knowledge" campus tours by SF State Grounds staff are held regularly. Attendees learn about the campus ecosystem and how to identify plants.
Power to the Pedal Bicycle outreach is aimed at educating the campus community about biking as a sustainable transportation method. Workshops and outreach sessions are held throughout the school year.
The Office of Sustainability presents sustainability program overviews to all campus administrators.
The Office of Sustainability does tabling outreach about various sustainability topics at quarterly Administration and Finance department staff Town Hall meetings.
SF State employees have access to numerous sustainability-related online courses through its Skillport program. Topics include corporate social responsibility, environmental health and safety, waste minimization, pollution prevention, and energy conservation.

The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition leads regular urban bicycling workshops to promote bike commuting.

Recology, SF State's waste hauler regularly conducts public outreach about recycling and composting.
