Course Inventory

One
A brief description of the methodology used to determine the total number of courses offered and to identify sustainability course offerings, including the definitions used and the process for reviewing and/or validating the course inventory :
The number of courses was determined by reviewing the SF State course catalog and course descriptions. SF State has an "Environmental Sustainability" requirement which is defined by classes that "must examine some aspect of environmental sustainability. The perspective can be from any area of the university curriculum, such as social sciences, natural sciences, arts, humanities, business, or engineering." We used this definition to inventory the courses.
In the attached course inventory, courses in Blue count as "Sustainability Courses." Courses in Red and Orange count as "Courses that include sustainability." Courses with white lettering signify that the highlighted class is also listed in the "Environmental Sustainability/Sustainability Overlay" category and are only counted once.
How were courses with multiple offerings or sections counted for the figures reported above?:
Each course was counted as a single course regardless of the number of offerings or sections
