Campus Race to Zero Waste

A brief description of the campaign:

Campus Race to Zero Waste is a national, annual tournament among U.S. universities and colleges to see which schools are the best at reducing their waste and recycling. SDSU has engaged students, faculty, and staff in the tournament by hosting weekly events on campus for creative reuse of material, updating landfill/recycling signage on the bins, marketing the campus recycling guidelines across campus, playing a trash sorting game with campus individuals, organizing giveaways of sustainable materials (utensils, reusable bottles, etc.), and posting waste reduction and recycling tips on social media. By participating in Campus Race to Zero Waste, SDSU hopes to improve waste awareness on campus and ultimately reach its goal of zero-waste.
