The monthly newsletter serves to highlight our office, our initiatives, our events, job opportunities, and resources offered through the university. It reminds people that we are here as an office and promote our sustainable successes to the community audience for this platform. It shows the value of our organization and the work that Facilities Services does while giving students a better idea of their options after college.

In the Conrad Preby's Student Union on campus, there is signage that shows how it is a United States' Green Building Council (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Double Platinum certified building in Planning, Design, and Construction along with Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance. The building also has interactive dashboards in the hallways educating students, faculty, staff, and community members about the building's green infrastructure and features.

Yes

A brief description of the guide for green living and/or incorporating sustainability into the residential experience:

San Diego State University's Green Room Certification takes all aspects of sustainability into account within ones living space. From energy and waste management to offering sustainable alternatives to daily habits, this comprehensive guide will provide residents with ways in which to implement environmentally conscious practices starting at home. Residents will take an initial survey to become Green Room Certified and, once completed, their living space will undergo periodical inspections by the Housing Sustainability Intern. Becoming part of San Diego State's Greenhouse will allow residents to be entered in various giveaways throughout the year and to be provided with sustainable swag for their contributions to campus-wide sustainability efforts.


A brief description of other comprehensive sustainability outreach materials and publications not covered above:

Our office hosts a radio show weekly on our college radio station (KCR College Radio). We invite interns to share progress and work, have a guest speaker outside of office once a month, and serves as another avenue to outreach about campus news and environmental news in general.
