A brief description of the institution’s formal participatory or shared governance bodies:
Student Government Association (SGA) represents the undergraduate student body. The SGA is dedicated to making SU an institution where the call of every Sea Gull is heard and equally valued.

Graduate Student Council (GSC) represents graduate students. The GSC’s goal is to provide avenues for intellectual, professional, personal, and social development through grants, advocacy, public presentation of research, graduate community events, and campus service support.

Faculty Senate represents tenured and tenure-track faculty. The Faculty Senate is the recognized voice of the faculty at Salisbury University, representing faculty through the process of shared governance. The Senate seeks ways to improve communication and collaborative decision making between all levels of the University. In addition, the Senate acts as an advisory and consultative body to the President on all matters that may affect the attainment of the University's educational objectives and goals.

Adjunct Faculty Caucus serves to communicate answers to frequently asked questions posed by adjunct faculty members.

Salisbury University Staff Senate (SUSS). The SUSS makes recommendations directly to the President on issues related to the administration of the University and on the functional support aspects of academic matters. Its responsibility is to consider and make recommendations on university issues affecting non-faculty employees, to communicate employee concerns to the President, and to inform non-faculty employees of the university's related actions.

The SU Town-Gown Council has a Neighborhood Relations Subcommittee that works to build and sustain positive relationships between the SU local neighborhoods, identifying both concerns and opportunities, and encouraging the appropriate responsible individuals and groups to develop solutions and programs.
