A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :
During the fall semester move in week, SU distributes 600 "Zero Waste Starter Kits" to first-year students and transfer students. The starter kits are distributed by the Director of Campus Sustainability, the Recycling Coordinator, and the Recycling Staff Members (undergraduate students). This is used as an education outreach opportunity. SU hopes the new students receiving the starter kits will practice sustainability during their time at SU (and beyond). The starter kits contain the following items:
1. Reusable Tumbler
2. Reusable Tote Bag
3. Reusable Utensil Kit
4. Reusable Straw
5. Informational Brochure
6. Cool Beans Loyalty Card (discount card at the local coffee shop for bringing your own cup)
