A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):
The mission of the Saint Michael's College (SMC) Wellbeing Collaborative is to encourage and support organizational and individual well-being among members of the campus community. The committee plans events and seminars that are open to all employees. As part of this program, employees are offered a membership in a local fitness club for just $10 per month. In addition, they have partnered with that club to offer tennis lessons on campus.

In addition, SMC is a member of the Green Mountain Higher Education Consortium (GMHEC). GMHEC has a Well-being Coordinator to partner with its member organizations, including St. Michael’s College, to support overall well-being. It offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the schools on their culture and well-being programming and initiatives across the spectrum of organizational and individual needs. More information about the GMHEC well-being work can be found on the GMHEC well-being website. https://gmhec.org/wellbeing/

We have a comprehensive EAP for all staff and faculty that includes a toll-free phone number and up to three free counseling sessions, in addition to a variety of other resources.  Moreover, students, faculty, and staff have access to two different fitness centers as well as a swimming pool and a dance studio, the latter of which holds regular physical fitness and yoga classes.
