Our newest buildings (2 residence halls and our student center) were designed and are operated under a very sustainable program regarding design, air quality, energy efficiency, water conservation, cleaning and maintenance procedures. See details below.

Through collaboration with Efficiency Vermont and commitment to meeting the expectations of Vermont Law 250, the College has done everything feasible (given fiscal constraints) to create campus buildings and infrastructure that are environmentally sustainable. Specifically, Law 250 requires every new construction and major renovation project to consider:
1. impact on air and water pollution
2. water supply and impact on water supply
3. erosion and capacity of soil to hold water
4. impact on transportation
5. impact on municipal and educational services
6. aesthetics, natural areas and wildlife habitat
7. energy, soils impacts; extraction of earth resources; utilities
