A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
Each new employee (during their first week on the job) must meet with a representative from the Human Resource department. During this meeting, the HR staff member provides the new employee a copy of the Sustainability Brochure, a reusable mug/water bottle and gives a brief overview of sustainability on campus. This includes an orientation to recycling and compost procedures and expectations, given the Vermont law requiring both. It also includes an overview of the importance of solid waste minimization, and our decision to promote online business processes as well as teaching and other campus systems. We also inform employees of the college's support of free transportation on Green Mountain Transit (bus).
