Documentation
Do the figures reported above cover one, two, or three academic years?:
Three
A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :
EcoReps and faculty worked with staff in the Registrar's Office and the Dean's Office to collect this information, after requests were sent to department chairs and faculty. We confirmed course descriptions, enrollments and learning outcomes by reviewing the college's catalog and course schedule. In addition, EcoReps and other students were able to review certain departmental curricula based on their own academic experience and course work.
Because we are a relatively small institution, some of our academic departments are combinations of two or three academic disciplines. Therefore, in determining the "number of academic departments", we used the number of academic disciplines which are responsible for developing their own courses (have distinct rubrics). For example, Sociology/Anthropology is one department, but we have two separate curricula, one for each discipline.

How were courses with multiple offerings or sections counted for the figures reported above?:
Other (please describe below)
A brief description of how courses with multiple offerings or sections were counted:
Within a given semester, each course was counted as a single course, regardless of the number of sections. Most courses are offered once per year, some on an alternate year basis, but a few are offered both semesters, and we wanted the numbers to reflect the number of opportunities a student would have to register for a particular course. We used this same method for all courses offered.

Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
We included regular semester courses as well as our online summer and semester break courses. We followed the STARS recommendations in terms of not counting small courses, independent study courses, and professional skills courses. We utilized three years of course offerings because many of our electives are offered on an alternate year basis.
