A brief description of the undergraduate degree program:

This is an interdisciplinary major that draws from faculty expertise and interest across the liberal arts curriculum, including biology, chemistry, geography, political science, English, philosophy, religious studies and business administration. In addition to core requirements, students may choose electives in several thematic tracks (Environmental Imagination; Science and Policy; Justice and Sustainability). Investigate important domestic and global environmental problems and learn how to help create a more sustainable world. Get outside the classroom for engaged learning that reflects the social justice mission of the College through internships, study abroad, community projects, and collaborative research with faculty. Participate in sustainability and environmental justice projects on campus such as recycling and energy efficiency, working in the organic garden, and activism through environmentally-conscious clubs such as Green Up and the Environmental Council.

A brief description of the undergraduate degree program (2nd program):

he Environmental Science program at Saint Michael's College gives students the opportunity to improve their scientific understanding of the human impact on our natural world and to engage in environmental problem-solving. It is an interdisciplinary major, leading to a Bachelor of Science degree. The curriculum is strongly rooted in chemistry and biology, and incorporates courses from our vibrant Environmental Studies program and from the humanities and social sciences. Students also have significant flexibility to tailor their degree to their individual interests.
