A brief description of the institution’s sustainability partnerships with the local community:
Saint Mary's University has partnered with many organizations in the past to help better sustainability on campus and in the community. These partnerships include speakers coming on to campus to talk with and teach students about different sustainability practices such as waste sorting and 'green' tips for living. In our Greening SMU monthly news letter we promote to students the organizations that are looking for volunteers for their different projects.
Some of these groups or organizations are:
HRM Solid Waste
Nova Scotia Nature Trust
Nova Scotia Environmental Network
Ecology Action Center
